Albania: Festivali i Këngës 61, semifinal 2

The Albanian national selection starts tonight. In four evenings, Albania will make a choice. Tonight, the second semifinal will be held. It starts at 21.00 CET and you can watch it here and here and on Youtube.

Albania usually is the first country to select an entry. Not this year, as we already know Ukraine’s entry. The Albanians will select through four evenings. The seminfinals will be held on Monday and Tuesday, another show, not with the participating songs, will be on Wednesday. Thhe final will be on Thursday.

These are tonight’s entries:

  4. Gjergj Kaçinari sings “Dje”
  5. Franc Koruni sings “Në pritje”
  6. Petrit Çarkaxhiu sings “Emri yt mirësi”
  7. Elsa Lila sings “Evita”
  8. Genti Hoxha sings “Ajër”
  9. Evi Reçi sings “Ma khte”
  10. Manjola Nalbani sings “Dua”
  11. LYNX sings “Nëse ke besim”
  12. Alban Kondi & Lorela Karoshi sing “Melodi”
  13. Vanessa Sono sings “Aroma jonë”

 

Gjergj Kaçinari took part last year and reached the final.
Franc Koruni took part in 2017 (11th) and 2021 (semifinal).
Evi Reçi participated in 2021 and 2022, both times finalist.
Manjola Nalbani took part in 2006 (final), 2008 (6th), 2018 (final). Due to a positive Corona test, she had to withdraw in 2021.
LYNX took part in 2013 (14th), 2014 (15th), 2017 (10th) and 2018 (semifinal).
Alban Kondi took part in 2008 as a member of Produkt 28 (15th).
Lorela Karoshi took part in 2017 (12th).

🇲🇪 Montenegro: Nina Žižić returns to Eurovision

Nina Žižić returns to Eurovision. She will represent Montenegro after the band NeonoeN withdrew. They decided not to participate with their song “Clickbait”. The song was already performed before September 1st of this year. That was reason for the EBU to investigate the case.  Nina Žižić was the runner up of the Montenegrin national final Montesong. Her song “Dobrodošli” was the favourite of the jury. Due to a lower score at the televote, Nina didn’t win. However, today Montenegrin broadcaster RTCG announced that she will represent Montenegro in the 2025 contest. It’s not the first time Nina Žižić represents Montenegro. In 2013, she was on stage accompanying hip hop band Who See. They performed the song “Igranka”, but unfortunately did not reach the final. And now Nina Žižić returns to Eurovision. The song “Dobrodošli” is written and composed by Violeta Mihajlovska, Boris Subotić and Darko Dimitrov. Due to the early stage of selection, we don’t know whether the song will be in the first or second semifinal. Montenegro’s Eurovision history Montenegro first participated in the Eurovision Song Contest as an independent nation in 2007, following its split from Serbia and Montenegro. Despite its small size, the country brought diverse entries ranging from Balkan ballads to modern pop. Montenegro achieved its best result in 2015 with Knez‘s “Adio,” a traditional ballad composed by Željko Joksimović, which finished 13th in the final. However, financial constraints and challenges in qualifying for the final often hindered its success. After withdrawing in 2020 and after due to funding issues, Montenegro will now return to the contest. Share
