Portugal continues with Festival da Canção

Tonight, Portugal will continue it’s national selection, Festival da Canção. It starts at 22.00 CET, and you can watch it here. Five songs will be selected out of ten, and these are the titles:

  • EU.CLIDES, “VOLTE-FACE”
  • Joana Alegre, “Joana do mar”
  • Pedro Gonçalves, “Não vou ficar”

  • Graciela, “A vida sem acontecer”
  • NEEV, “Dancing in the stars”

Pedro Gonçalves reached the final of Festival da Canção in 2017. The other artists never took part before in the contest.

Road to Basel: Lithuania Road to Basel: Lithuania! As the Eurovision Song Contest 2025 in Basel approaches, we continue our daily spotlight on this year’s contestants. The group includes Lukas Radzevičius (vocals, guitar), Alanas Brasas (lead guitar), Emilija Kandratavičiūtė (bass), and Jokūbas Andriulis (drums). Radzevičius initially launched the project as a solo act; however, as demand for live performances grew, he brought in other musicians and gradually shaped Katarsis into a full band. As they continued performing and refining their style, the group gained increasing recognition for their distinctive sound, which fuses alternative rock with post-punk influences. “Tavo akys” Katarsis’s Eurovision entry, “Tavo akys” (English: “Your Eyes”), features lyrics by Lukas Radzevičius and production by Jurgis Masilionis. The band released the track on 31 January 2025, and it quickly attracted attention for its emotional intensity. From a musical standpoint, the song highlights Katarsis’s signature alternative rock style, while also weaving in clear post-punk influences to enhance its atmosphere. Thanks to this unique blend and its heartfelt delivery, “Tavo akys” has earned widespread praise for both its emotional depth and strong composition. Eurovizija.LT 2025 Lithuania’s national selection for Eurovision 2025 was conducted through Eurovizija.LT 2025. Throughout the competition, 45 entries vied for a spot in the final, competing across five semi-finals. From each semi-final, the top two acts advanced to the final. Once in the final, a combination of jury and public votes was used to determine the top three entries. Subsequently, those three advanced to a superfinal, which was decided solely by public televote. Ultimately, Katarsis’s “Tavo akys” emerged victorious in the superfinal, thereby securing their spot to represent Lithuania in Basel. This is the full result of the final: Katarsis, “Tavo akys” Lion Ceccah, “Drobė” Liepa, “Ar mylėtum?” Black Biceps, “Visaip man reik” Amoralu, “Freedom” Gøya, “After Storm” Anyanya, “Running Out Of Time” Petunija, “Į saldumą” Sophie Ali, “The Bluest Bell” Justė Baradulinaitė, “Tired” Gebrasy, “Hole” Noy, “Just Take Me On A Date” Lithuania in the Eurovision Song Contest Lithuania has participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 24 times since its debut in 1994. The country’s best result came in 2006 when LT United finished 6th with the song “We Are the Winners.” The last few years, since 2021, Lithuania always manages to reach the final. The Roop even reached an 8th place! LT United singing “We Are the Winners” A Random Lithuanian Entry Reflecting on Lithuania’s Eurovision history, random.org chose 2001. That year, Skamp represented Lithuania with the song “You Got Style,” finishing 13th. Skamp was known for their unique blend of hip-hop, funk, and pop, and they remain popular figures in Lithuania’s music scene. Singer Erica Jennings took part in the national selection on several occasions, even in recent years. Betting Odds As of now, Katarsis’s “Tavo akys” holds a 21st position in the betting odds for winning the Eurovision Song Contest. In order to win semifinal 2, they are in 6th place. That means there is a serious chance for a 5th consecutive place in the final for Lithuania.
