Biography
Frederik Ndoci is an Albanian singer, born on 9 February 1960 in Shkodër, Albania. He began his musical career at a young age, gaining recognition for his powerful voice and emotional performances. Throughout the 1980s, Ndoci became popular in Albania through participation in various music festivals and competitions.
In 1989, Frederik Ndoci moved to Italy, where he expanded his musical career by performing in concerts and festivals across Europe, showcasing Albanian music internationally. During this period, he experimented with different musical styles, blending traditional Albanian music with contemporary elements.
Ndoci returned to Albania in the early 2000s and resumed performing in local music events. In 2006, he participated in “Festivali i Këngës,” the Albanian national selection for the Eurovision Song Contest. He won the festival with the song “Balada e Gurit,” which was later translated into English as “Hear My Plea.”
Representing Albania, Frederik Ndoci participated in the 2007 Eurovision Song Contest held in Helsinki, Finland. He performed “Hear My Plea” but did not advance to the final round.
Following Eurovision, Frederik continued his music career both in Albania and internationally. He remained active in music, frequently performing at concerts and cultural events, and continued to be recognized for his contributions to Albanian music.
In the years following his Eurovision appearance, Ndoci remained active in the Albanian music scene. He participated in various editions of “Festivali i Këngës,” including the 2011 and 2015 editions, showcasing his enduring presence in the national music landscape.
Beyond his performances, Frederik Ndoci expanded his artistic endeavors. He released several albums and singles, such as “Kenga e Pijes” in 2020, which reflected his continued evolution as an artist. His work often blended traditional Albanian musical elements with contemporary styles, appealing to a broad audience.
In addition to his musical pursuits, Ndoci engaged in literary and theatrical projects. He authored poetry and was involved in writing film scripts, demonstrating his versatility as an artist.
