Biography

Evridiki Theokleous, known simply as Evridiki, is a Greek-Cypriot singer born on February 25, 1968, in Limassol, Cyprus. She grew up in Nicosia and studied music at the National Conservatory of Cyprus. Later, she continued her studies in Paris and at the Berklee College of Music in Boston, USA.

In 1989, Evridiki moved to Athens to start her professional music career. Her first album was released in 1991. During the 1990s, she became one of the most popular singers in Greece and Cyprus, known for her mix of pop and Greek folk music. She worked closely with composer Giorgos Theofanous, whom she married in 1994 and divorced in 2000.

Evridiki represented Cyprus in the Eurovision Song Contest three times. In 1992, she performed Teriazoume in Malmö, Sweden, finishing in 11th place. She returned in 1994 with Ime Anthropos Ki Ego in Dublin, Ireland, again placing 11th. In 2007, she represented Cyprus for the third time with the French-language song Comme Ci, Comme Ça in Helsinki, Finland, but did not advance to the final, finishing 15th in the semi-final.

After her 2007 Eurovision participation, Evridiki continued her music career. In 2008, she performed the theme song Fun in the Sun at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest held in Limassol. The following year, she released the album Etsi Ine I Agapi in collaboration with Dimitris Korgialas. In 2010, she released the single Etsi Apla.

In 2017, Evridiki celebrated 25 years in the music industry by releasing the album 25 Gia Panta, which included new versions of her past hits and some new songs. She also performed in various concerts to mark this milestone.

In 2019, Evridiki served as the commentator for Cyprus during the Eurovision Song Contest held in Tel Aviv, Israel.

Evridiki remains active in the Greek and Cypriot music scenes, performing in concerts and collaborating with various artists. She is recognized for her versatility and significant contributions to contemporary Greek music.
