Pascoal’s early forays into music were marked by participation in several Portuguese talent shows. In 2010, she competed in the fourth season of “Ídolos,” the Portuguese version of “Pop Idol.” Three years later, in 2013, she took part in the inaugural season of “Factor X,” Portugal’s adaptation of “The X Factor.” In 2014, she auditioned to present the talk show “Curto Circuito” on SIC Radical, finishing in third place. She returned to “Ídolos” in 2015 for another attempt to showcase her talent.

Her breakthrough came in 2017 when she participated in the fifth season of “The Voice Portugal,” where she reached the semi-finals and secured sixth place overall. That same year, Pascoal became involved with the jazz band Morhua, contributing vocals and playing the ukulele. The group performed until July 2018, when they held their final concert at the Ourearte Music Fest.

In 2018, Pascoal achieved national recognition by winning the Festival da Canção, Portugal’s national selection for the Eurovision Song Contest, with the song “O jardim,” written and composed by Isaura. Representing Portugal on home soil at the Eurovision Song Contest 2018 in Lisbon, she performed directly in the final due to Portugal’s status as the host country. Despite a heartfelt performance, the song finished in 26th place with 39 points.

Following her Eurovision appearance, Pascoal embarked on a solo music career. In March 2019, she released her debut single “Ter e Não Ter,” which was later included in her first studio album titled “!” (pronounced “blah”), released on March 27, 2020. The album, produced by Universal Music Portugal, peaked at number six on the Portuguese Albums Chart and featured singles such as “Viver” (a collaboration with Samuel Úria), “Espalha Brasas,” and “Quase Dança”.

Pascoal continued to evolve her musical style, blending indie pop with traditional Portuguese elements. On May 19, 2023, she released her second studio album, titled “!!,” which included contributions from artists like David Fonseca and Marante. Pascoal was involved in writing and composing all the songs on the album, except for a cover of “I Play Tennis” by Miuda. Some tracks from “!!” are expected to be part of a future third album .

In addition to her recording career, Pascoal has performed at various music festivals and venues across Portugal, including Super Bock em Stock, MEO Mares Vivas, Hard Club Porto, and Teatro Maria Matos. Her performances are noted for their emotional depth and unique vocal delivery .

In 2023, Pascoal returned to the Festival da Canção with her song “Nasci Maria,” securing third place in the competition. This endeavor demonstrated her continued relevance and commitment to the Portuguese music scene .
