Today, the EBU came up with a new statement about the four delegations that couldn’t attend the Turquoise Carpet Event yesterday. “Following the positive COVID-19 test in the Polish delegation on Saturday 15 May all other members of the delegation undertook a PCR test, in accordance with the health and safety protocol of the Eurovision Song Contest 2021, and we’re pleased to report that all these PCR tests returned negative results. As a precaution the Polish delegation will remain in quarantine until being retested ahead of dress rehearsals for Semi Final 2, in which Poland perform, on Wednesday. Following a positive COVID-19 test within the Icelandic delegation yesterday (Sunday 16 May), they too have had PCR tests for which we are awaiting the results today and will remain in quarantine. They will also have further testing ahead of the same dress rehearsals in which they are also due to perform. All accredited individuals, including artists, have to test negative for COVID-19 before they can re-join the production. The delegations from Malta and Romania have not tested positive for COVID-19 and are not quarantining but, due to the fact they are staying in the same hotel as Poland and Iceland, did not take part in the Turquoise Carpet event and were also PCR tested as a safety precaution. Both these delegations will be welcomed to the arena today for rehearsals following negative results from the routine test this morning, as is normal procedure. Throughout the whole process, all decisions taken by the organizers of the Eurovision Song Contest are based on the expert medical advice of the event’s medical team and the Erasmus Medical Centre.” In cooperation with Eurovision Artists

He was born into a family with musical traditions: his father sang in a choir, and his mother sang and played the guitar. At the age of nine, he made his debut on stage at the Culture House in Jasło during a competition for Christmas carols, where he won an award. He then joined the local choir. During his middle school years, he took a three-year break from singing due to voice mutation. During his high school years, he was the vocalist of a heavy metal band called Whiplash, where he performed with his friend Kamil Czapla. Monika grew up in Łódź. She obtained a master’s degree in art, specializing in music therapy, from the Music Academy. During her school years, she sang in a children’s group. While in high school, she was involved in the school choir and theater and participated in recitation competitions. She started her professional career as a vocalist in the band Farenheit. They recorded two singles together: “Film” and “Sens istnienia,” with which they unsuccessfully attempted to participate in the “Debiuty” concert at the Polish Song Festival in Opole. At the end of 2000, Monika became the vocalist of the band Varius Manx, a band that was already active and famous since 1989. In 2001, they released their first jointly recorded studio album called “Eta,” which was promoted with the singles “Maj” and “Jestem Twoją Afryką.” The song “Maj” competed unsuccessfully to participate in the “Premiery” concert at the 38th Polish Song Festival in Opole. Kuszyńska’s joining the band led to her being styled as a new symbol of sex appeal. She posed twice in a nude photo session for “Maxim” magazine. She was born in 1987 in Ruda Śląska. Katarzyna graduated from the Secondary Music School Fryderyk Chopin in Bytom in cello and piano. At the beginning of her career, she collaborated with the bands Stetsons, Big Band Lotharsi and The Fire. She graduated in vocals at the Faculty of Jazz and Popular Music. In 2002, she recorded her first music demo, thanks to which she was noticed by Robert Janson. He wrote the song “I wanna know” for her, with which she participated in the 2006 national final for the Eurovision Song Contest. In 2008–2009, she played Judas in The Passion with the Philharmonic Witold Lutosławski in Wrocław. In 2011, she went to Las Vegas. After returning to Poland, she recorded a few demo songs, then returned to Las Vegas to participate in auditions organized by Robin Antin, founder of the girl band The Pussycat Dolls. Soon she played a concert at the Viper Room club owned by actor Johnny Depp. During the six-month contract, she cooperated with Kelly Osbourne, Mýa and Carmen Electra, as well as with Eva Longoria. After returning to Poland in 2012, she played the role of Cordelia in King Lear staged as part of the Sacrum Profanum festival. She participated in the third edition of Polsatu Must Be the Music. She took third place in the final. At that time she recorded the song “Uwierz”with the band Tax Free. In October 2015, she released her debut studio album entitled “Inspination”. She promoted the album with the single “Addiction”. With that song, she became 6th in the national selection for the Eurovision Song Contest. In 2017, with the song “Flashlight”, she won the Polish national selection and thus became the representative of Poland in the 62nd Eurovision Song Contest. The song reached the final and became 22nd. On June 1, she played a concert in the Warsaw club “Progresja”, during which she presented new songs, including the song “Body”. Also in 2017, she participated in the tv show Your face sounds familiar [37]. In October of that year, she teamed up with the Finnish duo Norma John to record the song “Wild Eyes”.
