Biography

Tina Karol, born Tetiana Hryhorivna Liberman on January 25, 1985, in Orotukan, Magadan Oblast, Russian Far East, is a renowned Ukrainian singer, actress, television presenter, and philanthropist. She moved to Ivano-Frankivsk, Ukraine, at the age of six, where she began her journey in the performing arts. Karol studied at the R. Glier Kyiv Institute of Music and later at the National Aviation University.

Her early career saw her as a soloist with the Ensemble of Song and Dance of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. In 2006, she gained international recognition by representing Ukraine at the Eurovision Song Contest with the song “Show Me Your Love,” finishing in seventh place. That same year, she released her debut album of the same name.

Karol’s subsequent albums, including “Polyus prityazheniya” (2007) and “Pomnyu” (2014), solidified her status in the Ukrainian music industry. She became a prominent television figure, serving as a coach on “The Voice of Ukraine” and “The Voice Kids” between 2012 and 2021, and hosting shows like “Dancing with the Stars.”

In 2014, she established the Tina Karol Charitable Foundation, focusing on supporting children’s oncology departments across Ukraine. Her philanthropic efforts have been widely recognized, and she has received numerous awards, including the title of People’s Artist of Ukraine in 2017.

Karol’s personal life has been marked by both joy and tragedy. She married her producer, Yevhen Ohir, in 2008, and they had a son, Veniamin. Tragically, Ohir passed away from stomach cancer in 2013.

In recent years, Karol has continued to evolve artistically. Her 2021 album “Krasivo” showcased a new musical direction, and she performed at major events like the Atlas Weekend festival. In 2022, she became involved in various initiatives supporting Ukraine during challenging times, including performances at international events and the release of the electronic mini-album “LELEKA.”

In 2025, Karol was appointed as the music producer for Vidbir, Ukraine’s national selection for the Eurovision Song Contest, reflecting her enduring influence in the Ukrainian music scene.
