Biography

Lion Ceccah (born Tomas Alenčikas) is a Lithuanian singer-songwriter and performance artist known for his bold theatrical style. In February 2026, he won Lithuania’s national selection with the song “Sólo Quiero Más,” earning the honor of representing Lithuania at the 70th Eurovision Song Contest in Vienna.

Early Career and X Factor Breakthrough

Tomas Alenčikas first emerged on the music scene under the stage name Alen Chicco. With a background in musical theater and dance, he developed a unique performance style blending powerful theatrical vocals, flamboyant costumes and dance-pop sounds. His first major public appearance came in 2017 on X Faktorius (X Factor Lithuania). There, his bold audition made history. He was the first drag artist to ever walk that stage. Alen Chicco’s daring talent took him all the way to the semi-finals of the competition, finishing in 4th place. This breakout TV moment introduced him to Lithuanian audiences and established his reputation as a fearless, genre-defying performer.

Artistry and Musical Releases

Following X Factor, Alen Chicco quickly became known as one of Lithuania’s most unconventional pop artists. His fresh approach made him “one to watch” in the local pop industry. He began releasing original music that showcased his eclectic style and boundary-pushing persona. In 2019, he put out the single “This Is Where I End My Doubts.” That was an experimental track, notable for including a drag-rap verse. His music often defies easy categorization: he mixes theatrical vocal techniques with modern pop, electronic, and dance elements.

Over the next few years, he released songs in both English and Lithuanian, from the empowering pop anthem “Lithuanian Queen” (2020) to introspective tracks like “Aš Čia” (“I Am Here”). Known for outrageous fashion and makeup on stage, Alen Chicco built a devoted fan base who embraced his message of artistic freedom and self-expression. He also founded the House of Alen Chicco, a creative collective and drag troupe, further cementing his influence in Lithuania’s LGBTQ+ art scene. Each new release and performance reinforced his image as an artist determined to push the boundaries of what a male pop performer can be.

Eurovision National Selection Journey

Alen Chicco’s rise continued through Lithuania’s Eurovision selection shows. In early 2019, he entered “Eurovizijos Atranka” (the national contest to choose Lithuania’s Eurovision entry) with the song “Your Cure.” His dynamic performance and distinctive style carried him to the finals of that competition, where he ultimately placed 5th. The following year, he returned to the newly revamped Pabandom iš Naujo 2020 selection with the heartfelt song “Somewhere Out There.” He qualified from the heats but was eliminated in the semi-final round. Undeterred, Alen Chicco continued to write new music and refine his craft.

After taking a short break from the Eurovision circuit in 20212022, he made another attempt in Pabandom iš Naujo 2023 with an upbeat entry titled “Do You.” Once again he progressed to the semi-finals, but “Do You” fell just short of the final, ending 6th in its semi-final lineup. These near-misses only strengthened his resolve. Over successive contests, Alen Chicco became a familiar name to Lithuanian TV audiences. His persistence and memorable performances earned him respect, even as victory eluded him in those years.

Reinvention as Lion Ceccah

By 2024, Tomas Alenčikas decided to reinvent his artistic identity. Embracing a new stage name Lion Ceccah (while sometimes still referencing “Alen Chicco” as an alter-ego), he signaled a fresh chapter in his career. The change was marked by the release of a symbolic single, “You’re The One (Farewell to Alen Chicco)”, in which he figuratively said goodbye to his former persona and welcomed a new era. Lion Ceccah maintained the same creative DNA: theatrical flair, androgynous style, and powerful pop vocals. However, with an evolved image and broadened musical vision.

In early 2025, Lion Ceccah entered Eurovizija.LT 2025 (Lithuania’s Eurovision selection) with a striking Lithuanian-language song called “Drobė” (“Canvas”). Lion Ceccah’s reinvention paid off: he advanced to the grand final and finished as the runner-up. “Drobė” won over many fans and jurors, only narrowly losing out to the winning act. This strong second-place result affirmed Lion Ceccah’s status as a serious contender in Lithuania’s music scene and set the stage for one more attempt at Eurovision glory.

Road to Eurovision 2026

Lion Ceccah returned to Lithuania’s national finals in 2026 with unwavering determination. Competing in Eurovizija.LT 2026, he presented “Sólo Quiero Más” (“I Only Want More”), a bold electro-pop track with a multilingual twist. Across five heats and a wildcard round, his performances consistently impressed both the public and the jury. In the grand final held at Vilnius’s Twinsbet Arena, Lion Ceccah delivered an electrifying show, appearing with a futuristic look and high-energy choreography. When the results came in, he emerged as the clear winner. “Sólo Quiero Más” topped the scoreboard, winning the public vote by a landslide with over 38,000 votes. That was more than double the runner-up’s tally. He secured Lithuania’s ticket to the Eurovision Song Contest 2026, fulfilling a dream nearly a decade in the making.
