Biography

Dragonfly is a Croatian pop-rock band formed in 1997 in Zagreb. The band comprises vocalist Iva Gluhak, guitarist Drago Vidaković, guitarist Branko Kužnar, and drummer Branko Badanjak. Initially performing under the name “The Draggers,” they began by covering rock and roll classics before transitioning to original compositions.

In 2007, Dragonfly, alongside singer Dado Topić, participated in Croatia’s national selection for the Eurovision Song Contest, Dora 2007. Their song “Vjerujem u ljubav” won the competition, earning them the opportunity to represent Croatia at the Eurovision Song Contest 2007 in Helsinki, Finland. During the semi-final held on 10 May 2007, they performed 13th in the running order and finished 16th out of 28 participants with 54 points, which did not qualify them for the final.

Following their Eurovision appearance, Dragonfly continued to perform and record music. In 2008, they performed as the opening act at the Dora 2008 final, Croatia’s national selection for the Eurovision Song Contest. They have maintained an active presence in the Croatian music scene, contributing to various musical projects and collaborations.

In 2017, Dragonfly released the single “Dođi mi pod bor,” a holiday-themed song that received airplay during the festive season. In 2022, they released a new version of their Eurovision entry titled “Vjerujem u ljubav (Nova Snimka),” which was made available on streaming platforms.
