Biography
D’Nash, originally known as Nash, was a Spanish vocal group formed in 2006. The quartet consisted of Esteban Piñero Camacho (Basty), Michael Hennet Sotomayor (Mikel), Francisco Javier Álvarez Colinet (Javi), and Antonio Martos Ortiz (Ony). They gained prominence for representing Spain in the 2007 Eurovision Song Contest.
Their debut single, “Capaz de Todo” (“Capable of Everything”), was released in February 2006, followed by their first album of the same name in March. The album included the ballad “¿Dónde Estás?” (“Where Are You?”) and was later reissued with additional tracks, such as “¿Qué Sabes del Amor?” (“What Do You Know About Love?”) and the Christmas song “Más Allá de las Estrellas” (“Beyond the Stars”).
In February 2007, D’Nash won “Misión Eurovisión 2007,” a Spanish TV program aimed at selecting Spain’s representative for the Eurovision Song Contest. Performing “I Love You Mi Vida” (“I Love You My Darling”) at the contest in Helsinki, they finished in 20th place. Following Eurovision, they re-released their debut album to include their Eurovision entry and other preselection songs, achieving sales of approximately 30,000 copies.
Their second album, “Todo Va a Cambiar” (“Everything’s Going to Change”), was released in December 2007, selling around 35,000 copies. In July 2008, Ony departed the group to pursue a career in musical theatre. The remaining trio continued until 2013, when they disbanded due to low sales of their final album, “Garabatos.” The original members reunited for a one-off concert in Madrid on December 21, 2014, and performed together again at “Objetivo Eurovisión,” the Spanish national final for the Eurovision Song Contest 2016.
