Biography
Deep Zone Project is a Bulgarian house and electro music group formed in 1998 in Varna, Bulgaria. The original lineup consisted of DJ Dian Solo (Dian Savov), JuraTone (Lyubomir Savov), and Rossko (Rosen Stoev).
In 2002, they released their debut album, “Ela Izgrei,” which garnered significant attention and led to five nominations at the MM TV Music Awards, winning “Best Song” for the title track.
In 2005, Deep Zone Project participated in the Bulgarian national final for the Eurovision Song Contest with the song “The Dance Of The World”. They reached the final but gained a 12th place.
Their international breakthrough came in 2008 when they represented Bulgaria at the Eurovision Song Contest with the song “DJ, Take Me Away,” performed alongside DJ Balthazar. Despite a dynamic performance, they finished 11th in the second semi-final and did not advance to the final.
After Eurovision, the band continued to evolve. In 2011, vocalist Yoanna Dragneva departed to pursue a solo career and was succeeded by Nadezhda Petrova (Nadia). Nadia’s tenure lasted until 2015, after which Nelina Georgieva took over vocal duties. In 2018, Eva-Maria Petrova became the lead vocalist, a position she holds currently.
Throughout their career, Deep Zone Project has released several albums, including “Ledeno Kafe” (2006), “DJ, Take Me Away” (2008), and “Niama NE” (2014). They have also produced numerous singles that have charted in Bulgaria and Eastern Europe.
