Biography

Andrius Pojavis is a Lithuanian singer-songwriter who first rose to prominence in his home country before gaining international recognition. Born on November 25, 1983, in Vilnius, Lithuania, Andrius showed an early interest in music and went on to pursue it professionally.

From a young age, Andrius Pojavis had a knack for singing which led him to play in a band named “No Hero” during his high school years. After earning his high school diploma, he relocated to Vilnius, where he balanced his passion for music with academic pursuits. He graduated with a degree in History from the Lithuanian University of Educational Sciences and continued his musical journey with various bands, among them Hetero, which emerged victorious in the EuroRock competition of 2006.

In pursuit of a solo career, Pojavis later shifted to Ireland, where he spent a year honing his songwriting skills and crafting his own material. The year 2012 marked a significant milestone in his career as he began recording his debut album at the Massive Arts studio in Milan, Italy.

His first single, “Traukiniai”, released later that year, made a significant impact. It found a place within the top twenty of the Lithuanian Singles Chart and its accompanying music video received considerable airtime on national television. Buoyed by this initial success, Pojavis went on to launch his debut album “Aštuoni”. The album was well-received in Lithuania, earning both commercial success and positive reviews from critics.

His solo career took off in 2012 with the release of his debut album, ‘Aštuoni.’ This album featured the popular single “Traukiniai,” which quickly garnered attention on Lithuanian radio.

Andrius achieved international fame in 2013 when he represented Lithuania at the Eurovision Song Contest. His performance of the song “Something” allowed him to qualify for the final and finish 22nd, earning Lithuania a respectable result in the competition.

Following his Eurovision success, Andrius continued to create music and released his second solo album ‘7’ in 2016. One of the songs from the album, “Air Of The Place”, became a huge hit in Lithuania. Two other songs were played on BBC Radio. There was also a lot of airplay for Andrius in Spain and Italy. “Chemical reaction” was another single that lead to succes in 2017.

In 2018 Andrius was able to perform in Ludwigshaven, Germany. His new EP, “Sei”, was released in April 2018. He also released a song in Italian, “L’Urgano”, followed by “Nuovo Mondo” a month later. He later started singing in Lithuanian again. On 13 April 2020, the song “Kai mes einam” was released. A year later, he released the song “Euterpei”.
