Daði & Gagnamagnið represent Iceland in Rotterdam

And the winner is… Daði & Gagnamagnið. De group of Daði Freyr, who wrote the song, won the Icelandic final Söngvakeppnin. Daði was close to it already in 2017, but now he will head to Rotterdam for the contest. After the five presentations, Daði & Gagnamagnið and DIMMA went to a superfinal, as said won by Daði.

Damir Kedžo wins Dora and represents Croatia

Damir Kedžo is chosen to represent Croatia in the 2020 Eurovision Song Contest. Damir was chosen out of sixteen artists and will perform in the first semifinal with the song “Divlji vjetre”. Iceland decides tonight

Tonight is also the night of the Söngvakeppnin 2020 final, the national selection for the Eurovision Song Contest. The show will start at 20.45 CET and you can watch it here. Five songs will compete in order to get the ticket to Rotterdam. You might have seen and heard the songs in the semifinals, but artists now have freedom of language. The five contestants are: Ísold & Helga, “Meet me halfway” Daði & Gagnamagnið, “Think about things” Nina, “Echo” Iva, “Oculis videre” DIMMA, “Almyrkvi” Daði Freyr was 2nd in 2017. His song went viral over the internet the last two weeks.

Croatia decides tonight

Tonight, sixteen songs will compete for the Croatian ticket to the Eurovision Song Contest in the competition called DORA. The show will start at 20.05 CET and can be watched here. The contest will be held in Opatija and has four hosts: Duško Ćurlić, Mirko Fodor, Ylata Mück Sušec and Doris Pinčić Rogoznica. The winner will be chosen by regional juries and televoting. The sixteen contestants are: Elis Lovrić, “Jušto” Bojan Jambrošič, “Više od riječi” Edi Abazi, “Coming home” Zdenka Kovačiček, “Love, love, love” Alen Vitasović & Božidarka Matija Čerina, “Da se ne zatere” Đana, “One” Aklea Neon, “Zovi ju mama” Nikola Marjanović, “Let’s forgive” Lorenzo feat. Damir Kedžo took part in 2011. Nikola Marjanović was in DORA 2010 and entered the Eurovision stage in 2016 as a backing vocal for Montenegro.

Valeria Pașa took part in 2013, 2015, 2016 and 2017, Irina Kit in 2013 and 2015, Maxim Zavidia in 2013, 2015 and 2016.Two contestants entered the Eurovision stage before: Natalia Gordienko in 2004 and Pasha Parfeny in 2012. Andreea Portărescu was one of last year’s backing vocals for Moldova while Catarina Sandu did that job in 2017.Note that, due to personal circumstances, 2008 Moldovan participant Geta Burlacu had to withdraw from the contest.
