Road to Liverpool: Spain

We can not wait for the Eurovision Song Contest in Liverpool. Therefore, we have a closer look at one of the contestants every day. Today: Spain. Blanca Paloma The winner of the Spanish national final, Benidorm Fest, is Blanca Paloma. She will sing the song “Eaea”, written and composed by Blanca herself with José Pablo Polo and Alvaro Tato.  Blanca was born in 1989 in Elche, near Valencia. She sang in several bands, among others Alfakay. Blanca also sang the title song for the television series “Lucía en la teleraña“. She participated in Benidorm Fest 2022, the national final for the Eurovision Song Contest, with the song “Secreto de agua“. After that, she released a new single called “Niña de fuego“. Benidorm Fest Spain has had numerous ways to select their entry. There have been huge national finals. On a lot of occasions however, Spain selected internally. One of the rejected songs from the 1986 internal selection became a worldwide hit: “Hijo de la luna” by Mecano. Last year, Benidorm Fest was the national selection for the first time. It might be the succes of winner Chanel and her song “Solo”. Chanel reached a 3rd place in the Eurovision Song Contest. A new era was there for the Spaniards! Reason enough to have another Benidorm Fest in 2023. And a big party it is! When you are in Benidorm around that time, you know it’s party time. Spain in the Eurovision Song Contest Spain participates in the Eurovision Song Contest since 1961. The country won twice: in 1968 with Massiel‘s “La, la, la”, while a year later Salomé got the trophy for her “Vivo cantando”. But let’s not forget Mocedades. They took part in 1973, didn’t win, but their “Eres tu” is now a Eurovision classic. The last few years, Spain ended up at the bottom of the list again and again. As stated before, Chanel broke that tradition last year. It resulted in a welcome in Spain, as if she had won the contest. The bookmakers The bookmakers currently predict a 6th place for Spain. That would be wonderful for the country. After many years of bad scores, Spain is back at the top! It would be a confirmation that Spanish broadcaster TVE is on the right track with Benidorm Fest. Blanca Paloma wins Benidorm Fest 2023

Was it Vicco, Agoney, or Blanca Paloma? After a long night in sunny Benidorm, we have a winner! Blanca Paloma has victored above all competition! This week it was between her and Agoney, as they both won eachothers semi final, but in the end the jury and Televote gave Blanca the most points.    Blanca will sing her solar song “Eaea” for Spain at Eurovision, in Liverpool. Spain: Benidorm Fest final is there!

After two semifinals, we head to the final of Benidorm Fest. Spain is gonna decide which song will go to Eurovision in Liverpool. Last year, Chanel was very succesful for Spain with a third place. Will the new particpant do the trick again? The show will start at 22.00 and you can watch it here. Benidorm Fest Semi Final 2 results

After another long night in Benidorm the results are in. Blanca Paloma won the semifinal. Last year, Blanca took part as well, but she didn’t manage to reach the final back then.  The other finalists from tonight will be Vicco, Karmento and José Ottero. Tonight is the night: Benidorm Fest will have it’s second and last semifinal. Benidorm Fest is the Spanish national final for the Eurovision Song Contest. The show starts at 22.50 and can be seen here. Out of 9 songs, 4 will qualify for the final. Benidorm Fest Semi Final 1 results

It’s been a long night in Benidrom, but the spanish people and jury have voted! Agoney has won tonight’s Semi Final with 161 points! He got the maximal amount of points that you can get from the televote, which is 40. Wil he get the Benidorm trophy this Saturday? Not only Agoney went through, but Alice Wonder, Fusa Nocta & Megara qualified for the final aswell. It’s also notable that fan favorite Aritz Aren barely missed out on the final, with a shortage of 4 points.

Road to Liverpool: Spain

We can not wait for the Eurovision Song Contest in Liverpool. Therefore, we have a closer look at one of the contestants every day. Today: Spain. Blanca Paloma The winner of the Spanish national final, Benidorm Fest, is Blanca Paloma. She will sing the song “Eaea”, written and composed by Blanca herself with José Pablo Polo and Alvaro Tato.  Blanca was born in 1989 in Elche, near Valencia. She sang in several bands, among others Alfakay. Blanca also sang the title song for the television series “Lucía en la teleraña“. She participated in Benidorm Fest 2022, the national final for the Eurovision Song Contest, with the song “Secreto de agua“. After that, she released a new single called “Niña de fuego“. Benidorm Fest Spain has had numerous ways to select their entry. There have been huge national finals. On a lot of occasions however, Spain selected internally. One of the rejected songs from the 1986 internal selection became a worldwide hit: “Hijo de la luna” by Mecano. Last year, Benidorm Fest was the national selection for the first time. It might be the succes of winner Chanel and her song “Solo”. Chanel reached a 3rd place in the Eurovision Song Contest. A new era was there for the Spaniards! Reason enough to have another Benidorm Fest in 2023. And a big party it is! When you are in Benidorm around that time, you know it’s party time. Spain in the Eurovision Song Contest Spain participates in the Eurovision Song Contest since 1961. The country won twice: in 1968 with Massiel‘s “La, la, la”, while a year later Salomé got the trophy for her “Vivo cantando”. But let’s not forget Mocedades. They took part in 1973, didn’t win, but their “Eres tu” is now a Eurovision classic. The last few years, Spain ended up at the bottom of the list again and again. As stated before, Chanel broke that tradition last year. It resulted in a welcome in Spain, as if she had won the contest. The bookmakers The bookmakers currently predict a 6th place for Spain. That would be wonderful for the country. After many years of bad scores, Spain is back at the top! It would be a confirmation that Spanish broadcaster TVE is on the right track with Benidorm Fest. Was it Vicco, Agoney, or Blanca Paloma? After a long night in sunny Benidorm, we have a winner! Blanca Paloma has victored above all competition! This week it was between her and Agoney, as they both won eachothers semi final, but in the end the jury and Televote gave Blanca the most points.    Blanca will sing her solar song “Eaea” for Spain at Eurovision, in Liverpool. After two semifinals, we head to the final of Benidorm Fest. Spain is gonna decide which song will go to Eurovision in Liverpool. Last year, Chanel was very succesful for Spain with a third place. It’s been a long night in Benidrom, but the spanish people and jury have voted! Agoney has won tonight’s Semi Final with 161 points! He got the maximal amount of points that you can get from the televote, which is 40. Wil he get the Benidorm trophy this Saturday? Not only Agoney went through, but Alice Wonder, Fusa Nocta & Megara qualified for the final aswell. It’s also notable that fan favorite Aritz Aren barely missed out on the final, with a shortage of 4 points.
