Clodagh Rodgers passed away
Sad Eurovision news: Clodagh Rodgers, British participant in 1971, passed away. She is known for her Eurovision song “Jack in the Box” and for several other hits. Monty Python’s Flying Circus even had an entire episode of their show about Clodagh. “The Cycling Tour” told about a man who lost his memory and now thought he was Clodagh Rodgers. Even the song “Jack in the Box” was sung. Anyone who wants to see the show can watch it here.

Eddie Friel did not pass away
Several Facebook and Reddit Eurovision groups mentioned the loss of former Irish eurovision participant Eddie Friel (ESC 1995). And yes, someone by the name of Eddie Friel died. But it was not the former Eurovision participant. He is still alive and kicking, residing in Austria.
