Veronica Fusaro for Switzerland

📷 EBU Switzerland has announced Veronica Fusaro as its representative for the Eurovision Song Contest 2026 in Vienna, Austria. The 28-year-old singer-songwriter from Thun will fly the Swiss flag at the 70th edition of the contest in May 2026. Swiss broadcaster SRG SSR selected Fusaro via an internal process with multiple rounds, involving both public voting and an expert jury. SRG SSR has scheduled the release of Fusaro’s Eurovision entry song for 11 March 2026. Who Is Veronica Fusaro? Veronica Fusaro is an alternative pop artist who blends pop with soul and rock influences. She first gained national attention in 2016 when she earned the Best Talent award from Swiss radio SRF 3, an early accolade in her career. Since then, Fusaro has built a reputation as a dynamic live performer, playing over 500 concerts across Switzerland and abroad. She has appeared at major festivals such as Glastonbury, the Montreux Jazz Festival and Gurtenfestival. In 2019, she opened for Mark Knopfler (of Dire Straits) during his tour in France. Fusaro’s discography includes several EPs and two studio albums. Her debut EP Lost in Thought (2016) introduced her soulful style. She followed it with two more EPs: Ice Cold (2018) and Sunkissed (2019). She released her debut album All the Colors of the Sky in 2023. The record reached No. 5 on the Swiss album chart and earned praise for its emotional depth. In October 2025, she released her second album Looking for Connection. That sophomore record explores themes of authenticity in the digital age. Across these releases, Fusaro’s warm and expressive voice has remained her trademark. The selection involved multiple rounds of evaluation. An international public panel and a professional jury each contributed 50% of the final outcome. This approach is similar to how Switzerland has picked its entries in recent years. SRG SSR, the Swiss public broadcaster, revealed Fusaro’s selection on 20 January 2026. Fusaro’s song for Eurovision 2026 will premiere on 11 March 2026. The song title remains under wraps for now, but the artist has been working on a compelling performance concept. Notably, she is collaborating with renowned creative director Fredrik “Benke” Rydman on her staging. Rydman has a strong Eurovision pedigree, having directed winning performances for Sweden in 2015 and Switzerland in 2024. For Fusaro’s performance, he is crafting a staging concept that emphasizes her musical identity, emotional presence and storytelling.  Artist Reactions and Outlook Upon the announcement, Veronica Fusaro expressed her honor and excitement at the opportunity. “I am extremely happy and honoured to represent Switzerland at Eurovision. It truly is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to share my music on a beautiful stage like that, with people from all over watching,” Fusaro said. She added that it has always been her dream to bring her music to the whole world. Stepping onto the Eurovision stage now means a great deal to her. Switzerland hopes that Fusaro can continue the country’s recent Eurovision success. The Swiss entry Nemo won the contest in 2024. Last year, Zoë Më achieved a top 10 finish when Switzerland hosted Eurovision 2025 in Basel. Fusaro will perform in the first half of Semi-Final 2 on 14 May 2026.
