Israel has unveiled its entry for the Eurovision Song Contest 2025: “New Day Will Rise,” performed by Yuval Raphael. The song, crafted by Keren Peles, who also penned last year’s entry “Hurricane,” seamlessly blends English, Hebrew, and French lyrics, incorporating verses from the biblical Song of Songs.
The selection process commenced with the reality singing competition HaKokhav HaBa, where Yuval Raphael emerged victorious on January 22, 2025, earning the right to represent Israel. Subsequently, a professional committee reviewed 54 song submissions, ultimately selecting “New Day Will Rise” unanimously.
The song’s approval by the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) was confirmed on February 17, 2025. That was after a thorough review. The official music video was filmed on February 25–26.
Yuval Raphael is a 24-year-old singer. She brings personal experience to her performance, having survived the tragic attack at the Nova music festival on October 7, 2023.Â
“New Day Will Rise” is characterized as an emotional ballad. It contains a message of hope for a better future, reflecting themes of love and renewal. The inclusion of biblical text adds depth, aiming to resonate with a broad audience.
Israel will present “New Day Will Rise” during the second semi-final of the Eurovision Song Contest on May 15.Â
