Biography
Veronica Fusaro is a Swiss singer-songwriter. She is known for her soulful voice and dynamic stage presence. Born and raised in Thun, Switzerland, she emerged in the mid-2010s as one of the country’s promising new talents. Her journey from local stages to international festivals has been marked by a string of successful releases and standout live performances. Now, in 2026, she is set to represent Switzerland on the Eurovision stage.
Early Breakthrough and First EP
Veronica’s music career took off in 2016 with the release of her self-produced debut EP Lost in Thought. Created in her parents’ basement, this EP introduced her intimate blend of pop, soul, and blues influences to the Swiss audience. The young artist quickly caught attention by winning the “Demo of the Year” award at Switzerland’s m4music festival in spring 2016. That same year, national broadcaster SRF3 named her “Best Talent,” marking an important early milestone in her career. By 2017, she also earned a nomination at the Swiss Music Awards, highlighting the industry’s recognition of her potential. Riding this momentum, Fusaro showcased her music beyond Switzerland. She was invited to perform at international events like MUSEXPO in London and Los Angeles, proving that her Lost in Thought EP had opened big doors for her.
Rising Success with EPs and Live Performances
Building on her early success, Veronica released two more EPs over the next few years. Her second EP, Ice Cold (2018), solidified her reputation with its R&B-inflected pop sound and even entered the Swiss album charts at No. 16. The following year she delivered Sunkissed (2019), a collection of songs with a retro soul vibe, completing a trilogy of EPs that defined her artistic identity.
Alongside these releases, Fusaro became known as a formidable live performer. She played over 500 concerts across Switzerland and abroad, gaining experience on a variety of stages. Her growing profile led to performances at major events. She took the stage at the Swiss Music Awards in Zürich and even performed during the Winter Olympic festivities in PyeongChang. Veronica also seized opportunities to appear at renowned music showcase festivals such as Reeperbahn in Germany, The Great Escape in the UK, and Music Matters in Singapore, where international audiences discovered her talent. Critics and fans praised her warm, direct voice and authentic songwriting, which allow her to turn personal emotions into accessible songs. As her concerts grew in size, she found herself opening for established artists like Dire Straits legend Mark Knopfler and singer Eagle-Eye Cherry – valuable experiences that exposed her to even wider audiences.
Debut Album and National Recognition
After three EPs, Fusaro reached a new milestone with her debut full-length album All the Colors of the Sky, released in January 2023. The album was a commercial and critical success. It entered the Swiss album charts at an impressive number 5, confirming her broad appeal in her home country. The release of the album was followed by a headline tour. Notably, she performed at famous festivals like the Glastonbury Festival in the UK and the Montreux Jazz Festival in Switzerland. In summer 2023, she also graced the stage of the Gurtenfestival and other local festivals. She capped off 2023 with a sold-out concert at the prestigious Kaufleuten venue in Zürich. Throughout these achievements, Fusaro stayed true to her musical style, blending catchy pop melodies with elements of soul and rock.
Looking for Connection – Second Album
Veronica kept writing new music and exploring fresh sounds. In October 2025, she released her second studio album, Looking for Connection. This record marked another step in her artistic evolution. The lead-up to Looking for Connection saw Veronica drop singles like “No Rain No Tears” and “Slot Machine,” which gave the audience a taste of her modern production style and matured vocals. Veronica continued touring in support of the new album, maintaining her reputation for engaging live shows. The continuous growth in her music and the consistency of her releases kept her name buzzing in the Swiss music scene and beyond.
Road to Eurovision 2026
All of Veronica’s hard work culminated in a major opportunity: in January 2026, Swiss broadcaster SRG SSR announced that Veronica Fusaro would represent Switzerland at the 70th Eurovision Song Contest in Vienna. Her selection came after a competitive internal process. Nearly 500 songs were submitted to the Swiss selection, and an international jury together with public voting chose Veronica as the ideal act to fly the Swiss flag. This announcement marked a new high point in her career. Veronica’s Eurovision entry is set to be released on 11 March 2026. Reacting to the honor, Fusaro said she was “extremely happy and honoured” to have the once-in-a-lifetime chance to share her music on the Eurovision stage. As a seasoned live performer with a distinctive voice, she aims to bring a personal and powerful performance to Eurovision.
