In the early years, The Ark played small shows around Sweden. Their first album, “We Are The Ark,” was released in 2000 and brought them national recognition. They became known for energetic performances and catchy melodies. The band gained further success in Sweden and Europe with their next albums, such as “In Lust We Trust” in 2002 and “State of The Ark” in 2004. Songs like “It Takes a Fool to Remain Sane” and “Calleth You, Cometh I” became popular radio hits.
In 2007, The Ark represented Sweden at the Eurovision Song Contest in Helsinki with the song “The Worrying Kind,” finishing in 18th place. They continued releasing music, including albums like “Prayer for the Weekend” (2007) and “In Full Regalia” (2010).
In 2010, the band announced they would split up after a farewell tour the following year. The Ark’s final concert took place in Stockholm in September 2011. After the split, band members pursued solo projects and other music-related activities. In 2020, the band briefly reunited for a few performances, but did not resume full-time activities.
