Biography
Marcel Palonder is a Slovak singer and pedagogue. He studied piano, composition and conducting at the Conservatory in Bratislava. In 1987 he founded the band Mandragora, with which he successfully performed throughout Czechoslovakia. In 1989 he emigrated to France, where he settled in Nice and sang classical music. This prompted him to study opera singing in Monaco.
After the 1991 revolution, he returned to Slovakia and in 1992 founded the band Accident’s Happen. In 1996, he represented Slovakia at the Eurovision Song Contest with the song “Kým nás máš”. In 2005 he founded the band Deep’n Space. Since 2008 he has been actively involved in the TangoUltimo project, composing stage and film music, solo performances and studio work. In 2010, together with Tomáš Palonder, accompanied by Street Dance Academy, they performed under the name Palonders in the Slovak national selection for the Eurovision Song Contest. In July 2013 he composed music and performed with other artists in the Proglas project, which was a celebration of the 1150th anniversary of the arrival of Cyril and Methodius in Slovakia.
