About
Biography
Kreisiraadio was an Estonian comedy trio formed in 1993, comprising Hannes Võrno, Peeter Oja, and Tarmo Leinatamm. The group began their journey on Kuku Raadio with a show that featured improvised sketches and absurd humor. Their popularity led to a television adaptation on Eesti Televisioon, where they entertained audiences with their unique brand of comedy.
In 2008, Kreisiraadio ventured into music by participating in Eurolaul, Estonia’s national selection for the Eurovision Song Contest. They won with the song “Leto Svet,” notable for its eclectic mix of languages, including Serbian, German, and Finnish. Despite their local success, the song did not advance past the semi-finals in the Eurovision held in Belgrade that year.
Following their Eurovision experience, the members pursued individual careers. Hannes Võrno, originally a fashion designer, continued his work as a television host and engaged in political activities. Peeter Oja maintained his presence in the entertainment industry as a freelance actor and television personality. Tarmo Leinatamm, a conductor who had previously led Estonia’s entries in the 1996 and 1997 Eurovision Song Contests, remained active in music and politics until his passing on October 13, 2014.
Kreisiraadio’s influence in Estonian comedy remains significant, with their sketches and performances continuing to be celebrated for their originality and humor.
