Biography
4fun is a Lithuanian music group from Vilnius, created in 2001. The band mostly plays calm, acoustic pop music. From the beginning, the leader and main singer of the group has been Julija Ritčik. Julija is known for her soft voice, gentle guitar playing, and her ability to write meaningful songs.
In 2005, 4fun participated for the first time in Lithuania’s national final for the Eurovision Song Contest, performing the song “Your Vision.” Although they didn’t win, the performance helped them become better known across Lithuania.
Two years later, in 2007, the group again took part in Lithuania’s national Eurovision selection. This time they performed the song “Love or Leave,” written by Julija Ritčik herself, and won. As a result, 4fun represented Lithuania at the Eurovision Song Contest held in Helsinki, Finland. Their quiet, intimate performance stood out from the others because the group sat on chairs in a circle on stage. They finished in 21st place in the final.
After Eurovision, in 2008, 4fun released their album titled “Dėlionė,” which featured songs in Lithuanian, English, and even Polish. Fans enjoyed the album’s personal and emotional style. During these years, the band performed at festivals, small concerts, and clubs around Lithuania.
4fun did not stop trying their luck in Eurovision selections. In 2008, Julija Ritčik took part in Lithuania’s national final again, this time performing as a solo artist with the song “To My Soul.” However, she did not win that year.
In 2010, Julija Ritčik once more entered the national Eurovision selection in Lithuania, performing the song “Personal Space,” but again she was not selected for the contest.
Julija Ritčik continued working both solo and with 4fun, giving acoustic concerts, performing cover versions of famous songs, and writing new music. The group stayed active mostly within Lithuania, remaining popular for their honest and emotional music.
Today, Julija Ritčik continues to perform, write new songs, and occasionally appears on Lithuanian television and radio. 4fun remains known for their warm, gentle style and the sincerity of their performances, still appreciated by audiences who enjoy calm and heartfelt music.
