It was already rumoured before, but now it is sure. During the festival of Sanremo 2022, the hosts of the upcoming Eurovision song contest are announced. Laura Pausini, Alessandro Cattelan and Mika will host the show. Laura Pausini won the festival of Sanremo in 1993. It was the start of a brilliant carreer; her winning Sanremo song “La solitudine” became a worldwide hit, followed by songs like “Strani amori” (3rd in Sanremo 1994), “Gente”, “Incancellabile” and “Fantastico (fai quello que sei)”. source: wikimedia commons  Alessandro Cattelan is a famous Italian tv-show host and actor. He hosted the Italian version of “Total request live” and X-Factor Italia. Mika, born as Michael Holbrooke Penniman jr., is a Lebanese-born British singer. His greatest hits were “Relax (take it easy” and “Grace Kelly”. Italy was interested in him because he hosted the show “Stasera Casa Mika” on Italian television and he was a judge in X-Factor Italy. source: Wikimedia Commons

Tonight, the festival of San Remo continues. The winner of the contest can be the Italian representant in the Eurovision Song Contest. That means, if he, she or they want it. All the participants had to inform Italian television (RAI) already about their wish to participate…. or not. The show starts at 20.40 CET and you can watch it here. This second night, another 13 songs will be presented: Aka7even, “Perfetta così” Ditonellapiaga con Donatella Rettore, “Chimica” Elisa, “O forse sei tu” Emma, “Ogni volta è così” Fabrizio Moro, “Sei tu” Giovanni Trupi, “Tuo padre, mia madre, Lucia” Highsnob e Hu, “Abbi cura di te” Irama, “Ovunque sarai” Iva Zanicchi, “Voglio amarti” Le Vibrazioni, “Tantissimo” Matteo Romane, “Virale” Sangiovanni, “Farfalle” Tananai, “Sesso occasionale” Emma participated in Sanremo 2011 and 2012. In 2014 she represented Italy in the Eurovision Song Contest.Fabrizio Moro was present in Sanremo 2017 and won the contest together with Ermal Meta in 2018. They went to Eurovision for Italy.Irama took part in Sanremo 2019 and 2021.Iva Zanicchi is experienced: she took part in Sanremo 1965, 1966, 1967, 1968, 1969 (winner!), Canzonissima 1970, 1971, 1972 and 1973. As the winner of SanRemo 1969 she represented Italy in the Eurovision Song Contest.Le Vibrazioni took part in SanRemo 2018 and 2020.
