Hooverphonic presents entry

Another entry has been presented this morning. The Belgian representants Hooverphonic presented their song. It’s called “Release me” and it speaks about composer/group member Alex Calliers Esther who was seriously il and later passed away . Callier also wrote the Belgian entry “A matter of time” for Sennek two years ago. You can hear the Belgian entry here:

French entry revealed

Today, live from the Tour Eiffel, Tom Leeb sang “The best in me”, the song that will represent France in the Eurovision Song Contest. The song is composed by John Lundvik, Thomas G:son and Peter Boström. The lyrics are co-written by Amir Haddad en Léa Ivan. Although it was known some time already, the song was chosen before the singer. It’s a bilingual song. You can watch the song here

Pearl Carr passed away

Today, the sad news reached us that Pearl Carr passed away. Carr was the female half of the duo Pearl Carr & Teddy Johnson. The two married in 1955 and started singing from then on. In 1959, they were chosen to represent the United Kingdom in the Eurovision Song Contest with the song “Sing little birdie”. They reached a 2nd place. A year later, they attempted to represent their country again, but their songs were not chosen.Years later, in 1988, they both performed in the Westend musical “Follies”. At the end of this tour, in 1990, they decided to retire from showbussines. In 2018, Teddy Johnson passed away, followed by Pearl Carr today. Carr was 96 years old.

Polish final complete

The third finalist for Poland is known. It’s gonna be Albert Černý. The Lake Malawi singer was chosen out of seven contestants. Next week, same time, we will have a final with him, Kasia Dereń and Alicja Szemplińska. photo ©

Poland has it’s 3rd semifinal

This afternoon, 15.15 CET, Poland will have it’s third semifinal. You can watch it here. After this, we know which three artists are going to battle for the ticket to Rotterdam. This afternoon’s artists will all sing a Beatles song. You will see performing: Marek Saliszuk Nick Sinckler Basia Gąsienica Giewont Albert Černý Norbert Legieć Marzena Ryt Adrian Makar One of these names is familiar: Albert Černý! Last year he was on Eurovision Stage for his own country Czech Republic, as he is the singer of Lake Malawi! As a solo singer he now tries to represent Poland.
