Hooverphonic: safety and security priority

It is not sure whether Hooverphonic will be present at next year’s Eurovision Song Contest. At least the band itself wants to. This is what they stated:

While we regret the unfortunate chain of events, we fully understand and support the EBU’s decision to cancel the Eurovision Song Contest 2020. World health, safety and security will and should always be anyone’s top priority. We wish to express our deepest sympathies to every party involved, and would also like to thank all people that are risking their lives on a daily basis, in order to help and cure others.
We hope to send you some positive vibes about ESC soon!
In the meantime, stay healthy, stay safe & stay positive!

🇮🇱 song: This is Israel’s entry “Michelle”

Israel has revealed “Michelle” as its entry for the Eurovision Song Contest 2026. The song will be performed by Noam Bettan, who became Israel’s representative after winning the latest season of HaKokhav Haba, the annual television talent show that selects the country’s Eurovision singer. KAN released the track on 5 March during a dedicated broadcast, completing Israel’s selection for Vienna. The reveal of “Michelle” gives a clearer picture of Israel’s direction for this year’s contest. The song was composed by Tslil Klifi and Nadav Aharoni. The lyricists are Klifi, Aharoni, Bettan himself and Yuval Raphael, who represented Israel at Eurovision in 2025. The song includes Hebrew, English and French lyrics. Noam Bettan was chosen first, and the song followed later. He secured the ticket to Eurovision by winning the final of HaKokhav Haba after votes from both the judging panel and the viewing public. After that result, KAN moved forward with the song-selection process. Israeli media reported that around 200 songs were submitted anonymously to the broadcaster’s committee. The field was reduced, Bettan recorded the shortlisted options, and “Michelle” was ultimately selected for the contest. Israel is scheduled to perform in the second half of the first semi-final on 12 May.
