About
Biography
Todomondo was a Romanian pop group formed specifically to represent Romania in the Eurovision Song Contest 2007. The ensemble consisted of six members: Andrei Ștefănescu, Kamara Ghedi, Ciro de Luca, Vlad Crețu, Valeriu Răileanu, and Bogdan Marian Tașcău, also known as Mister M.
Prior to Eurovision, several members had notable musical careers. Andrei Ștefănescu and Kamara Ghedi were part of the duo Alb Negru, while Vlad Crețu was associated with the group Supermarket and later became a guitarist for the band Hara.
Todomondo gained national recognition by winning Romania’s national selection competition, Selecția Națională 2007, with their song “Liubi, Liubi, I Love You.” This track was distinctive for its multilingual lyrics, incorporating English, Italian, Spanish, Russian, French, and Romanian, with each member singing in a different language. The song was composed by Vlad Crețu, Kamara Ghedi, and Bogdan Tașcău. The band originally had the name Locomondo. As another band under that name already excisted, they had to change it.
At the Eurovision Song Contest held in Helsinki, Finland, Todomondo performed “Liubi, Liubi, I Love You” in the Grand Final on May 12, 2007. They were the 20th act to take the stage and ultimately secured the 13th position out of 24 finalists, earning a total of 84 points.
Following their Eurovision participation, Todomondo disbanded, and its members returned to their individual musical endeavors.
