Biography
Theo Evan, born Evangelos Theodorou on May 16, 2002, in Nicosia, Cyprus, is a Greek-Cypriot singer-songwriter, dancer, and actor. He is set to represent Cyprus at the Eurovision Song Contest 2025 in Basel, Switzerland, with the song “Shh.”
His passion for performing began at the age of seven, when he started taking dance lessons, singing in his school choir, and participating in theater productions and local talent shows across Cyprus. His early involvement in the arts quickly earned him awards and distinctions, and his talent was recognized by both teachers and peers. After graduating from The English School in Nicosia, Evan continued his education at the Berklee College of Music in Boston. There, he focused on music and performance, graduating with honors and receiving multiple invitations to participate in official university ceremonies.
Theo Evan released his debut single “The Wall” in 2021, launching his professional recording career. In the following year, he released two additional tracks: “So Cold” and “Burn Us Down.” In 2023, he expanded his discography with “Save Me from Myself” and “Dark Side,” continuing to define his style as dark, emotive pop with electronic influences. The year 2024 saw the release of “The Cost of Losing You” and “Fading Dreams,” two singles that reinforced his presence in the Mediterranean pop scene. Parallel to his music work, he made a minor appearance in the television series Euphoria, where he featured briefly in the seventh episode of the second season.
In September 2024, the Cypriot broadcaster CyBC internally selected Theo Evan to represent Cyprus at Eurovision. His entry, “Shh,” was released in March 2025 and is described as a dark and mysterious track inspired by the myth of Narcissus. The song combines Mediterranean rhythms with contemporary production and has a theatrical presentation that teases a reveal of a hidden character, scheduled for the live performance in Basel. The staging for “Shh” is directed by Sergio Jaen, who previously worked on Ireland’s 2024 Eurovision entry, and choreographed by Borja Rueda.
