Biography
The Jet Set was a Polish musical duo active from 2005 to 2009, performing a blend of R&B, pop, and dance music. The group was formed in December 2005 by Polish music producer Sławomir Sokołowski. The original lineup included Russian-born singer Sasha Strunin and rapper Tray Shipp. In 2006, Tray Shipp was replaced by English-born David Junior Serame.
In 2006, The Jet Set released their debut single “How Many People,” which was one of the 15 songs that qualified for the final of the Polish national selection for the Eurovision Song Contest. They finished third in the selection final.
On February 3, 2007, The Jet Set won the Polish national selection “Piosenka dla Europy” with the song “Time to Party,” earning the right to represent Poland at the Eurovision Song Contest 2007 in Helsinki. The song was composed by Mateusz Krezan, with lyrics by David Junior Serame and Kamil Varen.
During the Eurovision semi-final held on May 10, 2007, The Jet Set performed “Time to Party” and finished in 14th place out of 28 entries, receiving 75 points. This result did not qualify them for the Grand Final.
After their Eurovision participation, The Jet Set continued to perform in Poland and received several awards, including a Superjedynka and an Eska Music Award. In 2009, the group disbanded, and Sasha Strunin began a solo career.
Their discography includes the album “Just Call Me,” released in 2006, and the single “Just Call Me – Now,” released on January 25, 2008.
