Biography

Tanel Padar (27-10-1980) is an Estonian singer. He became famous by winning a competition for young singers in 1999. He started a band called Tanel & The Sun, which is now one of the most popular bands in Estonia, releasing no less than eight albums.
Dave Benton (31-1-1951) is a Dutch singer, born in Oranjestad, Aruba but currently living in Estonia. Benton has had a varied musical career in Northern European countries. In 1981, he represented The Netherlands Antiles in the OTI Song Festival. He performed in the German production of the musical City Lights, after which he was asked to replace Engelbert Humperdinck on his Australian tour. Benton has released and produced quite a few albums already, one of which in his native tongue, Papiamento. He has had more of a career as a performing artist.
The band 2XL is now better known as Soul Militia. The band was found in 1997. In 2007 they took part in the national selection for the Eurovision Song Contest.
Tanel Padar, Dave Benton and 2XL represented Estonia in the 2001 Eurovision Song Contest with the song “Everybody”. They won the contest and became the first ever Estonian Eurovision winners.
