Stella Jones is an Austrian singer. She was born in West-Berlin, but in 1977 she came to Vienna. She began her musical career at the side of her mother in performances in jazz club. After initial experience in stage productions such as the “Rocky Horror Show” roles followed in musicals such as “Mozartmania”, “Rent”, “Is not Misbehavin’ ” and “Little Shop of Horrors”. With the band Powerpack she reached the number 1 spot in the Austrian charts with the “Birthday song”.
In 1995 she represented Austria in the Eurovision Song Contest with “Die Welt dreht sich verkehrt”. In the same year she released her first album. She worked together with Taylor Dayne, Gloria Gaynor, Omara Portuondo, Chaka Khan and Nina Hagen.
In 2008, her album “The Pursuit of Silence” appeared with 15 original compositions, for which she was also responsible as a producer.
