Biography
Early life and musical beginnings
Noam Bettan was born on 6 March 1998 in Ra’anana, Israel. He grew up in a French-Jewish family, where music played a natural role in everyday life. From a young age, he showed a strong interest in singing. Therefore, he took part in school choirs and local music activities. His focus was always on vocals rather than instruments. During his teenage years, he developed his voice further and became interested in pop music with emotional depth.
After finishing secondary school, Bettan completed his mandatory military service in Israel. Even during this period, he continued to sing and perform whenever possible. Once his service ended, he decided to fully commit to a professional music career. This marked the real beginning of his journey as an artist.
First public exposure and television breakthrough
In 2018, Noam Bettan gained national attention for the first time. He took part in the Israeli television programme Aviv or Eyal. The show focused strongly on vocal ability and stage presence. Bettan reached the final and finished in third place. As a result, he became known to a wider audience across Israel.
After the programme, Bettan chose a careful path. Instead of releasing music immediately, he focused on vocal development and artistic direction. He worked with songwriters and producers and gained experience through live performances. This period helped him build confidence and define his musical identity.
Building a recording career
From 2021 onwards, Bettan began to release music more consistently. His early singles introduced him as a pop singer with a clear emotional style. Songs such as “Ahavot leYom Ehad” and “Ba’ir Sheli” helped him reach radio listeners and streaming audiences. Step by step, his name became familiar within the Israeli pop scene.
In 2023, Bettan released his debut studio album Me’al HaMayim. The album marked an important milestone in his career. It showed his growth as a vocalist and performer. During the same period, his single “Buba” achieved notable success and reached third place on the Galgalatz radio chart. Consequently, Bettan secured his position as a recognised recording artist.
Artistic development and later releases
After the release of his debut album, Bettan continued to expand his catalogue. He released songs such as “Sakin BaLev” and “Lahzor HaBaita”. These tracks strengthened his image as a mainstream pop artist with a personal touch. His music remained accessible, while the lyrics focused on emotions, relationships and personal reflection.
In 2024, Bettan released “Pokeach Einayim”, a song based on a poem written by an Israeli soldier who was killed in combat. This release showed a more reflective side of his artistry. At the same time, he stayed active on stage and online. In 2025, he followed up with singles such as “Madame” and “Sheva Dakot Be-Gan Eden”. These releases confirmed his consistency rather than introducing a new direction.
Road to Eurovision 2026
In late 2025 and early 2026, Noam Bettan took part in HaKokhav HaBa, Israel’s national Eurovision selection show. Throughout the competition, he stood out for his vocal control and emotional delivery. Week after week, he received strong reactions from both juries and viewers. In January 2026, he won the final and earned the right to represent Israel at the Eurovision Song Contest 2026 in Vienna.
The selection was widely seen as a logical next step in his career. Bettan already had experience with television, live performances and chart success. Therefore, Eurovision marked an expansion of his career rather than a sudden turning point.
Eurovision and future plans
At the Eurovision Song Contest 2026, Noam Bettan represents Israel with a song that reflects his established musical identity. The focus lies on vocal performance and clear emotional storytelling. Eurovision gives him the opportunity to reach a wider international audience.
Looking ahead, Bettan plans to continue releasing music and performing live. Eurovision serves as a platform, not an endpoint. His career so far shows steady growth, careful choices and a strong focus on vocal quality. These elements remain central as he moves forward, both in Israel and beyond.
