Biography
La Década Prodigioso is a group of Spanish musicians, pop style. The project was born in 1985, created by Javier de Juan, Manel Santisteban and Manuel Aguilar. Initially they thought of it as a project for the recording of a compilation album of songs from the 1960s in the form of potpouris. The initiative had a great impact and it was soon decided to form the group as such, being the initial formation integrated by Javier de Juan, Manel Santisteban, Manolo Aguilar, Manuel Rodríguez, Paco Morales, Cecilia Fernández Blanco, Ana Nery, Tatay and Álvaro. The period of greatest media impact was in the second half of the 1980s. The group represented Spain in the 1988 Eurovision Song Contest with the song “Made in Spain (La chica que yo quiero)”. At that stage they began to incorporate their own songs to their repertoire. From that moment on various changes in the band were ongoing, although the band was losing popularity. Later, they participated in the Eurocanción 2001 festival. In 2006 they participated in the International Song Festival of Benidorm.. Throughout the history of the group, important artists such as Mikel Herzog, Paloma Blanco, Adrian Lastra, Mario Barbero, Carlos J. Benito, Tony Ferrer, Robert Ramirez, Carlos Solano, Mayte Leiva, Saray Ramirez, Noemí Carrión worked with the group.
