Biography
Gemini was a Portuguese group. Tozé Brito, Mike Sergeant, Teresa Miguel and Isabel Ferrão formed the Gemini in 1976 after the end of the Green Windows. Jorge Hipólito, Green Windows sound technician, later joined the group. They released the single “Pensando em ti” in late 1976. In 1977 they participate in the RTP Song Festival with the song “Portugal no Coração”. The event implied that the same song was interpreted in two versions. In the end, the song won but with the other interpreters.
Gemini released an album called “Pensando em ti” in 1977. That year, former Green Windows member Fatima Padinha joined the group . The group released a single called “Uma flor à janela”, followed by a christmas single “É Natal, feliz Natal”.
In 1978, the group represented Portugal in the Eurovision Song Contest with the song “Dai-li-dou”. followed by an album with the same name.
In 1979, the group released the single “Quero abraçar-te Sexta-feira”. The band broke up that year after Tozé Brito was invited to another publisher. The two female singers joined Doce and Mike Sergeant joined José Cid with whom he still collaborates.
