Biography

Erzsébet Csézi, known professionally as Csézy, was born on October 9, 1979, in Mezőkövesd, Hungary. Her upbringing in a family that cherished Hungarian folk traditions deeply influenced her musical journey. She pursued formal education at the Béla Bartók Music Department of the University of Miskolc, where she refined her vocal and piano skills.

In 2007, Csézy released her debut album, “Szívverés,” which achieved commercial success in Hungary. The lead single, “Általad vagyok,” received significant airplay, bolstering her presence in the Hungarian music scene. The following year, she represented Hungary at the Eurovision Song Contest 2008 in Belgrade with the song “Candlelight.” Despite her heartfelt performance, she did not advance to the final, finishing 19th in the second semi-final.

Undeterred, Csézy continued her musical endeavors, releasing her second album, “Csak egy nő,” in 2009, further showcasing her versatility as an artist. Beyond her music career, she expanded her creative pursuits into fashion design, launching the “Csézy Collection,” reflecting her personal style and artistic sensibilities.

In 2012, Csézy married László Szabó, a businessman and scientist specializing in cancer research. The couple’s shared interests and mutual support have been central to their enduring relationship.

In 2018, she joined the cast of the Hungarian television show “Magyarország, szeretlek!” (“Hungary, I Love You!”), a popular game show celebrating Hungarian culture and knowledge. Her appearances on the program endeared her to a broader audience, showcasing her charismatic personality and deep appreciation for her heritage.

In early 2025, at the age of 45, she welcomed her first child, a daughter named Elizabet. The journey to motherhood was challenging, marked by years of perseverance, making Elizabet’s arrival a cherished blessing. Csézy often shares glimpses of her joy with her followers, highlighting her deep bond with her daughter.
