Biography

Arvingarna (The heirs) are a Swedish dance band from Partille outside Gothenburg. The band is established in 1989 and participated in the Swedish Melodifestivalen 1993, 1995, 1999, 2002 and 2019. They represented Sweden in the Eurovision Song Contest in 1993, where the band ended in seventh place. In 1999 they sang the contribution “Det svär jag på”. During the performance Casper Janebrink’s microphone did not work, which is why the group had to sing their song again. In 2019, the group’s contribution “I Do” went on to the final.
Arvingarna received a Grammy in 1992 for the album “Coola killar”.
The name of the group indicates that the group members have parents who have also played in dance bands. The band plays more pop and rock oriented music, and has also been described as a boy band.
In May 2009, Lars Larsson participated in Streapler’s 50th Anniversary Show live at Liseberg where he sang the song “Bara 15 år” and played acoustic guitar on the song “Jag har en dröm”.
Arvingarna is the only dance band in Sweden that has had the same members since its inception.
