Biography

Remember Monday is a British country-pop trio comprising Lauren Byrne, Holly-Anne Hull, and Charlotte Steele. The group formed in 2013 after the three met at The Sixth Form College Farnborough in Hampshire. Initially performing under the name Houston, they later rebranded as Remember Monday in 2018, a name inspired by their habit of rehearsing together on Mondays.

Each member has a background in musical theatre. Hull has performed in productions such as The Phantom of the Opera and Les Misérables; Byrne has appeared in Matilda and the UK tour of Six; and Steele has been part of Mary Poppins. Their shared experiences in theatre contributed to their strong vocal harmonies and stage presence.

In 2019, Remember Monday gained national attention by competing on The Voice UK. Their rendition of Seal’s “Kiss from a Rose” during the blind auditions impressed all four judges, leading them to choose Jennifer Hudson as their coach. They advanced to the knockout stages before being eliminated. That same year, they won Best Group at the British Country Music Awards and released their debut single, “Drive,” which reached number one on the iTunes Country Chart.

The trio continued to build their profile with performances at various festivals, including Country to Country, The Long Road, and Highways Festival at the Royal Albert Hall. They also supported artists like Billy Joel and Natasha Bedingfield. In 2023, they made the decision to focus on their music careers full-time, leaving their previous jobs to dedicate themselves entirely to the band.

Remember Monday has released two EPs: Hysterical Women in 2023 and Crazy Anyway in 2024. Their music blends country influences with pop elements, characterized by strong harmonies and storytelling. They have also gained a significant following on social media platforms, particularly TikTok, where they share covers and original content.

In March 2025, the BBC announced that Remember Monday would represent the United Kingdom at the Eurovision Song Contest in Basel, Switzerland, with their song “What the Hell Just Happened?”. This marked the first time since 1999 that a girl group represented the UK at Eurovision. The song, co-written with producers Billen Ted, Thomas Stengaard, and Julie Aagaard, showcases the group’s signature harmonies and energetic style. On May 17 they performed in the Grand Final, where they reached a 19th place.
